Tough Losses

by DJ on November 16, 2009

Color me among the frustrated with the Lakers over the past two games. In both games, the Lakers have come out lethargic and without passion in the 2nd half.  Although you can come up with some valid reasoning behind the blowout in the Denver game (2nd night of back to back, thin air), there is no reason for last nights game.

What bothers me mostly is looking at the boxscore and seeing a vertically challenged Houston team out-rebound the Lakers 60-38. It further bugs me to look at the LSO (formerly known as Tempo Free Box Score) of last night’s game and see the Lakers completely dominated. There is no reason 6′0 (yeah right, more like 5′9) Aaron Brooks should practically out-rebound the entire Lakers bench combined and Kobe Bryant to boot! Rebounding is all about grit and determination. In a game with so many misses, there are many players to point your finger at and say, this is about you going and getting those rebounds. Including Andrew Bynum, who registered a team high 11 rebounds, needs to get more in a game like this.

They looked awful on Friday against the Nuggets. No fire, no passion, no hustle. Just an overall disappointing game to watch.
